Job description

The IT Project Manager is responsible for the planning, execution, organization and finalization of IT-related programs and/or projects according to agreed upon deadlines within an approved budget. Responsibilities additionally include identifying resource needs and coordinating with service managers to secure team members, vendors and 3rd-party contractors/consultants to execute and deliver projects according to plan. The IT Project Manager will work with IT's business partners and Business Relationship Managers to clearly define the project objectives and oversee quality control throughout the life cycle of the exercise to deliver on these objectives.

As a Project Manager, some of your essential duties and responsibilities may include:

  • Developing, executing and managing projects within the defined scope.
  • Leading all aspects of the project lifecycle, working with project sponsors/key stakeholders, team members, and management to oversee all phases of project completion.
  • Building and managing project's work breakdown structure, milestones, risks, issues, and deliverables within the constraints of human and financial resources and changing priorities to ensure the successful completion of the project.
  • Developing a detailed project plan for each initiative; monitoring and tracking progress against that plan. Measuring project performance using appropriate tools and techniques.
  • Management of all outsourced project technical support and 3rd party project consultants.
  • Defining and tracking project milestones while developing, maintaining, and reporting weekly on an overall integrated delivery plan.
  • Ensuring assigned projects are delivered on time, on budget, with quality and in accordance with the Duracell Project Methodology (which is primarily based on the Waterfall methodology). Projects assigned may also require a hybrid agile approach.
  • Capturing project issues, ensuring clear ownership of resolutions, and tracking all issues to closure.
  • Escalating pending decisions and significant issues to project sponsors when necessary, in a timely fashion.
  • Serving as single point of contact for project level questions and status.
  • Managing project financials by way of Excel-based models

Requirements

  • Strong ability to establish and maintain effective strategic working relationships with peers and constituents at all levels or the organization.
  • Experience interfacing with all levels of business leadership providing project status, presenting significant project issues and the alternatives to resolve, and attain approval for recommendations.
  • Solid functional background related to IT initiatives with understanding and/or hands-on experience in software development, systems administration, or infrastructure engineering.
  • Strong demonstrated leadership of direct and indirect teams and associated leadership, mentoring and supervisory skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills including a high level of attention to detail and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent project management and team leadership skills.
  • Exceptional working knowledge of MS Office applications, most notably Microsoft Project, Microsoft PowerPoint and Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to be a technical strategic thought leader as well as a "hands on" implementer.
  • Prior experience working within the consulting industry is a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to travel globally when needed., * Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) with a concentration in the field of computer science or related technical discipline.
  • Minimum of 7+ years of relevant experience required managing IT related projects, leveraging Waterfall and Hybrid Agile methodologies.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Project for project scheduling and tracking
  • PMP certification (preferred but not required).
  • Previous experience managing ERP projects is a plus.
