Job description

We are seeking an experienced Oracle Database Specialist to support a major central government programme. The role focuses on performance analysis, optimisation, and troubleshooting within complex, multi - supplier delivery environments. You will work closely with development and test teams, providing deep technical expertise in Oracle RDBMS, PL/SQL, and cloud - hosted database operations on AWS., * Performance analysis and tuning activities across Oracle RDBMS environments.

Use advanced Oracle performance tools to identify bottlenecks, optimise queries, and improve overall system efficiency.
Work as part of integrated development and test teams, supporting application performance and stability.
Provide expert - level PL/SQL development, review, and optimisation.
Operate and support Oracle RDBMS running on Amazon Public Cloud (IaaS).
Contribute to technical triage, root - cause analysis, and resolution of complex issues.
Collaborate with multiple suppliers and internal teams within a large, multi - vendor programme structure.
Produce clear technical documentation and share knowledge across the wider team.

Requirements

This is a hands - on technical role requiring strong diagnostic skills, the ability to work collaboratively across teams, and a track record of improving database performance in large - scale systems., * Expert knowledge of Oracle RDBMS performance analysis tools (eg, AWR, ASH, OEM) and proven experience in performance tuning.

Deep expertise in PL/SQL development and optimisation.
Hands - on experience operating Oracle RDBMS on AWS IaaS environments.
Strong problem - solving, triage, and diagnostic skills within complex technical landscapes.
Experience working on large, multi - supplier programmes, ideally within government or similarly regulated environments.
Ability to integrate effectively with development and test teams, supporting end - to - end delivery.
