In this role you will help integrate and test sophisticated RF communication systems, from small-scale low-density solutions to large, complex, high density multi-rack systems. You will interface and collaborate with other engineering fields as new capabilities are developed. In addition, you will be customer facing to provide on-site support for delivered systems to troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve field issues. The day-to-day
You will plan and implement test tasks that include interpreting test requirements, writing test plans and test cases, performing site installations, and providing demonstrations and training of various RF stimulation systems. You will provide on-site customer support for deployed systems to include integration, troubleshooting and debug of new and existing capabilities. You will collaborate with sophisticated customers and other support staff, representing Viasat as an experienced professional.
Requirements
- 3+ years of System Engineering or system integration and test experience
- SATCOM or Wireless/RF Communication Systems experience
- Familiarity with RF test equipment (ex: spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, signal generators, etc.)
- Linux/Unix experience
- Knowledge and experience with a programming or scripting language (i.e. Javascript , Python, bash, or other)
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science/Engineering or related discipline
- US Citizenship
- Must be able to obtain a United States Secret Clearance
- Must be able to work out of our office in Carlsbad, CA
- Ability to travel up to 50%

- Python, Javascript, bash expertise , C experience
- Test automation development experience
- Familiarity with requirements traceability tools (e.g., Jama, DOORS, etc.)
- Experience in a customer-facing role for highly complex products
- Active secret clearance is preferred
Benefits & conditions
$120,500.00 - $190,000.00 / annually. For specific work locations within San Jose, the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, the base pay range for this role is $149,500.00- $224,500.00/ annually At Viasat, we consider many factors when it comes to compensation, including the scope of the position as well as your background and experience. Base pay may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
