Job description
- System Modeling & Simulation: Architect and maintain comprehensive end-to-end PHY models that account for signal impairments, channel behavior, and the nuances of data converter abstractions.
- Strategic Architecture Studies: Lead deep-dive trade-off analyses balancing critical constraints such as power consumption, latency, bit error rate (BER), and sampling resolution.
- Optimization & Validation: Refine signal processing and equalization methods by testing them against realistic hardware limitations and system non-idealities.
- Data-Driven Leadership: Convert sophisticated simulation data into actionable engineering constraints and design roadmaps
- Industry Influence: Monitor global advancements in Ethernet and high-speed standards (e.g., IEEE 802.3, OIF, UEC) to identify innovation opportunities and represent technical interests in standardization bodies.
- Mentorship & Ecosystem Engagement: Provide technical guidance to emerging engineers and foster relationships with academic partners and industry leaders through conferences and collaborative research.
Requirements
We are looking for a technical visionary to drive the architectural evolution of high-speed physical layer (PHY) systems. This role is designed for an expert capable of bridging the gap between complex physical phenomena and practical, high-performance system models., * Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related technical field.
- Extensive background in SerDes and high-speed PHY systems, specifically involving designs exceeding 100Gb/s per lane.
- Profound grasp of noise, jitter, and channel modeling, along with the ability to abstract complex physical effects into usable system-level models.
- Advanced proficiency in system-level simulation environments using Python or Matlab.
- Aility to make sound engineering judgments even when faced with incomplete or uncertain information.
- Exceptional intercultural communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across diverse, multi-national teams.
- Full professional mastery of English is essential; additional knowledge of German or Chinese is considered an asset.
