Job description

  • Own the product backlog for a defined product or capability area (e.g. Checkout within Basket & Checkout).
  • Translate portfolio strategy and investment priorities into clear user stories, acceptance criteria, and sprint goals.
  • Define and maintain a prioritised roadmap aligned to portfolio objectives.
  • Ensure backlog items are outcome-led and tied to measurable success criteria.
  • Continuously refine and reprioritise work based on performance, insight, and evolving business needs., * Work closely with UX/UI, Research, and CRO to ensure solutions are grounded in user insight and behavioural data.
  • Participate in and support research, testing, and experimentation initiatives.
  • Ensure product decisions are informed by data, experimentation, and validated learning, not opinion.
  • Identify friction, failure points, and improvement opportunities within the owned product area.
  • Champion consumer-centric thinking within the squad and across stakeholders.

Delivery & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Engineering, Design, and Data teams to ensure high-quality, timely delivery.
  • Balance discovery and delivery to ensure the team is solving the right problems while shipping value regularly.
  • Manage dependencies across teams and portfolios in a complex, global environment.
  • Escalate risks, trade-offs, and delivery constraints clearly and early to the Teamhead.
  • Ensure alignment with Finance, Legal, Compliance, Security, and other relevant functions where required., * Contribute directly to the portfolio KPIs defined by the Teamhead (e.g. conversion, payment success, engagement, reliability).
  • Define feature- and initiative-level success metrics in collaboration with Data & Analytics.
  • Monitor performance trends and use insight to inform backlog refinement.
  • Support experimentation and continuous optimisation within the product area.
  • Clearly communicate impact, learnings, and performance updates to stakeholders., * Work closely with the Teamhead / Portfolio Owner to align on priorities and trade-offs.
  • Collaborate with global and regional stakeholders to ensure relevance and scalability.
  • Represent the product area in relevant forums and planning sessions.
  • Ensure transparency of progress, risks, and outcomes.

Requirements

  • 6-8+ years of experience in digital product roles such as Product Owner, Product Manager, or similar positions.
  • Significant experience as a Product Owner or Product Manager working on transactional digital products.
  • Strong experience working on eCommerce checkout, payments, or conversion-critical journeys.
  • Proven experience delivering complex features in collaboration with engineering and design teams.
  • Experience working with payment providers, checkout systems, or commerce platforms is highly beneficial.
  • Strong understanding of conversion optimisation and customer journey performance.
  • Experience working within agile product teams managing backlog and delivery cycles., * Deep understanding of checkout flows, payments, and digital commerce best practices.
  • Ability to prioritise work that improves conversion, reliability, and user experience.
  • Strong backlog ownership and product delivery management.
  • Ability to collaborate closely with designers to ensure seamless transactional user experiences.
  • Understanding of technical considerations such as payment integrations, fraud, and platform performance.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to identify optimisation opportunities.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to coordinate across engineering, design, and commercial stakeholders.
