This is a unique opportunity: you will be the first DevOps hire based in our Alkmaar office, taking ownership of DevOps and SRE responsibilities that will empower our engineering teams to focus on what they do best. You will operate at the intersection of our .CONNECT and .STUDIO pillars, supporting .DIGITAL and .PLAY, with full backup from our Platform Engineering team in the UK and Australia.
What Your Day Will Look Like
As a DevOps Engineer at Beyond Sports, you'll be central to the stability, reliability, and scalability of our cloud infrastructure. You'll collaborate closely with engineers, technical leads, and global squads, supporting both internal teams and customer-facing operations. Your day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Maintaining and improving cloud-based systems across AWS, ensuring high availability and performance.
- Troubleshooting and resolving infrastructure, deployment, and environment issues to support customers quickly and effectively.
- Designing, implementing, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for Unity, Unreal, and .NET applications.
- Managing infrastructure as code using Terraform, CloudFormation, and CDK.
- Ensuring observability across systems, leveraging tools like Grafana, CloudWatch, Loki, and Prometheus.
- Collaborating with teams across engineering to automate workflows, improve deployment processes, and optimise cloud usage.
- Mentoring colleagues on DevOps best practices, automation strategies, and infrastructure design.
- Driving continuous improvement within the Platform Engineering function and the wider organisation.

Requirements
Do you have experience in Unreal Engine?, You don't need to tick every box - but here's what we're ideally looking for:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a DevOps, SRE, or cloud engineering role
- Experience operating distributed systems at scale.
- Strong AWS knowledge and hands-on experience with IaC (Terraform, CloudFormation, or CDK).
- Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines - especially for Unity, Unreal and .NET.
- Working knowledge of SQL and relational database principles.
- Experience with observability tools (Grafana, CloudWatch, Prometheus, etc.).
- Development experience with an object-oriented language (e.g., .NET).
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Analytical mindset, attention to detail, and strong problem-solving capabilities.
- Proactive attitude and the drive to improve systems and processes.
This role is based on-site in our Alkmaar office, 40 hours per week. You must be living in the Netherlands and eligible to work in the EU.
