Job description

We're looking for an experienced Systems Developer to join our ICT team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This is a great opportunity to contribute to the development, maintenance and improvement of the Council's digital systems. About the Role You will work across the full system development lifecycle, including:

  • Analysing requirements, designing, developing, testing and documenting systems.

  • Creating user interfaces, system integrations and prototypes.

  • Maintaining data integrity and supporting database administration.

  • Producing technical specifications, test plans and scripts.

  • Diagnosing and resolving third-tier support incidents.

  • Leading system upgrades and patches within ITIL Change and Release processes.

  • Supporting continuous improvement and promoting best practice in development.

Requirements

We're seeking a developer with strong technical skills and a proactive mindset. You should have:

  • A degree in Computer Science, Software Development or equivalent experience.

  • Extensive practical experience developing and maintaining workflows using Azure Logic Apps and Power Automate

  • Good background knowledge in setting up, configuring, and administering Azure environments, ensuring compliance, scalability, and operational excellence

  • Understanding of REST, SOAP and JSON integrations.

  • Knowledge of ITIL testing, change and release management.

  • Strong communication, problem-solving and organisational skills.
