At Checkout.com, our Cloud Engineers build the resilient, scalable, and secure foundations that enable our Merchants to boost their acceptance rates, cut processing costs, and fight fraud. We are looking for engineers to help us evolve our Azure ecosystem, ensuring our infrastructure is as high-performing as the code it supports., As a Cloud Engineer, you are at the start of a high-growth journey. You will work independently on implementations and support tasks while receiving mentorship from Senior Engineers. You will help design and deliver feature-level work, ensuring our systems - from microservices to global networking - are built to the highest standards of the Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework., * Networking & Security: Basic understanding of Azure networking patterns (e.g., Hub-and-Spoke VNet architecture, Azure Front Door, Private Links) and security best practices using Azure Key Vault and RBAC., * Design & Deliver: Confidently build and maintain small-to-medium sized cloud services, ensuring they align with Checkout Engineering standards and architectural patterns.
- Collaborate & Grow: Partner with Senior Engineers to deliver project-level work within your Atom, while actively participating in team ceremonies and peer reviews.
- Operational Excellence: Adopt full operational responsibility for your services, providing triage and support to ensure the high availability of our payment systems.
- System Reasoning: Create solutions that are well-documented and easy to reason about, even for those unfamiliar with the specific system.
- Continuous Improvement: Proactively identify areas for improvement within your team's cloud footprint and work with mentors to design and implement these enhancements.
- Ownership: Display high accountability for the tasks you deliver, showing urgency during incidents
Requirements
- Educational Background: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Azure Fundamentals: At least 1 year of experience in a cloud engineering role. You should be familiar with core Azure services such as Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure Functions, App Services, and CosmosDB., * DevOps Mindset: Experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions) and a passion for automation.
- Problem Solving: Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to triage common flows unaided during incidents.
- AI Curious: You are eager to explore how AI can enhance infrastructure automation and team productivity.
- Communication: Great communication skills with the ability to provide clear updates on progress and interact with stakeholders to resolve common support queries.
