Job description

We are looking for an IT Infrastructure Services Engineer who enjoys working in complex, enterprise environments and who wants to make a real impact behind the scenes: ensuring stability, scalability, and continuous improvement of our core infrastructure platforms. This is a senior, hands on role with a high level of autonomy, embedded in a close knit, international team where collaboration, trust, and ownership truly matter.

Your role

As an IT Infrastructure Services Engineer, you will manage and optimize our central infrastructure services, hosted in our data centers and Azure cloud environment. You will work on virtualization, cloud, storage, monitoring, endpoint management, and SQL Server administration - not local end user support, but the core systems that everything else depends on.

You will collaborate closely with colleagues across IT, application teams, and external partners, and you will support strategic initiatives such as system integrations and mergers & acquisitions.

What you will be working on

Virtualization (VMware) You administer and optimize our VMware vSphere environments, ensuring high availability, performance, and lifecycle management of virtual machines.

Cloud Infrastructure (Azure) You deploy, manage, and secure Azure resources, balancing performance, cost efficiency, and governance while supporting automation initiatives.

Storage & Backup You manage enterprise storage platforms (SAN/NAS), monitor capacity and performance, and ensure reliable backup and recovery solutions.

Monitoring & Reporting You configure and maintain monitoring tools create dashboards and alerts, and proactively identify potential issues before they impact the business.

Endpoint Management (SCCM & Intune) You support endpoint configuration, patching, compliance, and automation using Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager and Intune.

SQL Server Support You contribute to database backup, recovery, security, and availability in collaboration with application teams.

Documentation & Continuous Improvement You document infrastructure configurations and processes, and actively contribute to automation, standardization, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Our team & culture You will join a small, experienced IT Infrastructure team with colleagues across Europe. We value:

  • Mutual support and trust
  • A relaxed, respectful working atmosphere
  • Flexibility and pragmatism
  • Taking initiative instead of waiting for instructions

At Nippon Sanso, we are a stable organization - but not a rigid one. People who thrive here are those who step up, take responsibility, and help shape solutions.

Requirements

We are looking for someone who brings technical expertise, enterprise mindset, and personal ownership. You likely:

  • Have a Bachelor's degree in IT or equivalent experience
  • Bring 3+ years of hands on experience in IT infrastructure engineering
  • Are comfortable working independently in a lean, international team
  • Enjoy environments where structure exists, but initiative matters just as much
  • Like helping others and stepping beyond strict role boundaries when needed

Experience with the following technologies is important:

  • VMware
  • Microsoft Azure
  • Enterprise storage systems
  • Monitoring tools
  • SCCM & Intune
  • Microsoft SQL Server

Relevant certifications (VMware, Microsoft Azure, SCCM, …) are a plus, but practical experience and mindset matter most. How you work

  • You think analytically and troubleshoot calmly in complex environments
  • You communicate clearly and collaborate easily with both technical and non technical colleagues
  • You take ownership and don't need daily supervision to move work forward
  • You document your work and care about long term quality
  • You are open to learning, feedback, and continuous improvement
