Job description

Are you an experienced HV Authorised Person ready to step into a role where your expertise truly matters? Join a state-of-the-art data centre operating at the heart of business-critical infrastructure. This is an opportunity to work in a high-performance environment where precision, safety, and technical excellence are non-negotiable-and where your contribution is valued every day.

As a Data Centre HVAP Technician, you'll be a key guardian of electrical safety and operational continuity. Working alongside the Building Engineering Supervisor and Engineering Shift Leader, you'll take ownership of high-voltage operations, planned maintenance, and rapid response to critical incidents. This is a continental shift role, offering variety, autonomy, and the chance to operate at the sharp end of mission-critical engineering.

What You'll Be Doing

Deliver planned and reactive maintenance across critical electrical and building systems, consistently meeting or exceeding SLAs.

Act as the site HVAP, carrying out safe switching, isolations, and control of high-risk activities.

Respond swiftly to BMS alarms and unplanned events, diagnosing faults and restoring systems with minimal downtime.

Manage the Permit to Work system, ensuring all documentation, authorisations, and controls are in place.

Produce and follow switching schedules, SOPs, and EOPs, ensuring strict adherence to Safe Systems of Work.

Maintain evaporative cooling and domestic water systems in line with L8 compliance.

Ensure spare parts and materials are available to support maintenance activities.

Complete accurate records and task reporting via REALM.

Prepare and review Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) to ensure safe working practices.

Supervise subcontractors and ensure works are delivered safely, compliantly, and to specification.

Build strong, professional relationships with colleagues and client representatives.

Support incident management during faults, outages, or emergency situations.

Maintain a safe working environment and represent the business with professionalism and excellent customer service.

Continually develop your technical capability through training and ongoing professional development.
