Job description

We are looking for a Datadog specialist to support a short-term engagement focused on migrating observability tooling from Grafana to Datadog.

This is a hands-on contract role where you will take ownership of migrating dashboards, metrics, and monitoring configurations, ensuring a smooth transition with minimal disruption to existing services.

You will work closely with Appvia engineers to implement best practices in observability and ensure the platform is well-instrumented, scalable, and easy to operate., * Lead the migration of observability tooling from Grafana to Datadog

  • Recreate and optimise dashboards, alerts, and monitoring configurations
  • Ensure metrics, logs, and traces are correctly integrated and visualised in Datadog
  • Improve visibility, alerting, and operational insights across the platform
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure minimal disruption during migration
  • Apply best practices for observability, monitoring, and alerting

Requirements

About You

You are a hands-on observability engineer with strong experience in modern monitoring tooling and cloud environments.

You will bring:

  • Strong experience with Datadog (essential)
  • Experience working with Grafana (migration experience highly desirable)
  • Good understanding of observability principles (metrics, logs, tracing)
  • Experience working in AWS environments
  • Ability to work independently and deliver in a short timeframe
