You should work with your line manager to understand what their expectations are for you, your specific role and your team., This role leads the Benchmark function within Mobile Network Quality team, ensuring mobile network performance aligns with benchmark priorities and business needs (marketing claims). It requires strong technical insight and analytical processes to drive continuous improvement and stakeholder confidence. It provides regular competitor intelligence insights
- Act as the subject matter expert on mobile performance, specialized in benchmarking aspect of it (drive-test and crowd-data based), within NQCXI department, enabling effective prioritization of wider Networks department actions to achieve business required marketing claims (e.g. UK's Best Network, UK's Most Reliable network, etc.).
- Develop and maintain geographic mobile performance model, which precisely quantifies geographical areas and systematic issues which are essential for the achievement of business required marketing claims.
- Lead the analysis and provide regular insights into mobile benchmark results, including the competitor intelligence, to assure VodafoneThree competitiveness on the market.
- Represent NQCXI department in mobile network forums, building strong relationships, to provide timely information to NQCXI team on ongoing RAN activities, and to provide impact analysis of said RAN activities to benchmarking.
- Drive continuous improvement of team's analytical expertise and capability
- Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior analysts and mobile performance reporting teams within wider NQCXI department, fostering a culture of innovation and accountability.
Requirements
- In-depth understanding of mobile network technologies, including 2G (GSM), 3G (UMTS), 4G (LTE), and 5G NR, with a focus on radio access network (RAN) architecture and performance characteristics.
- In-depth understanding of mobile benchmarking methodologies, drive-test and crowd-data based.
- Expertise in mobile network optimisation techniques, such as handover parameter tuning, neighbour cell management, load balancing, interference mitigation strategies, etc.
- Strong command of statistical modelling and data science techniques, including regression analysis, clustering, and time-series forecasting, to quantify customer dissatisfaction and predict network performance impacts.
- Knowledge of key mobile performance KPIs, such as call setup success rate (CSSR), drop call rate (DCR), throughput, latency, and coverage metrics, and how they correlate with customer experience indicators like rNPS.
- Understanding of mobile network planning and deployment processes, including spectrum management, site rollout, and RAN upgrades, to assess and communicate customer impact.
- Ability to translate complex technical models and performance insights into clear, compelling narratives, tailored for both technical and non-technical audiences, enabling effective decision-making across the business.
- Experience mentoring technical teams, with the ability to guide junior analysts and reporting teams in analytical best practices, model development, and performance interpretation.
