Job description

We are building a deep-tech startup at Constructor University Bremen (EXIST Research Transfer-funded Phase I) and are looking for a highly skilled and entrepreneurial Computer Vision Engineer who will take full ownership of the perception and video analytics stack - from zero to a fully functional, production-ready system.

Your mission:

  • Design, develop and optimize the complete video analytics / detection pipeline (object detection, tracking, barcode/OCR, 3D reconstruction, monocular depth estimation).
  • Build robust, real-time capable software for autonomous systems (drone).
  • Work end-to-end: from data acquisition and annotation strategy to model training, deployment and continuous improvement.
  • Think and act like a co-founder - you will shape the core technology of the company.

Requirements

  • Very strong expertise in video analytics, image processing and deep learning
  • Excellent skills in Python, PyTorch/TensorFlow, OpenCV and modern computer vision libraries
  • Practical experience with foundation models
  • Experience with the MMLab ecosystem (MMDetection, MMCV, etc.) is a strong plus
  • Practical experience with Agentic AI, multi-object tracking, depth estimation or 3D scene understanding
  • Experience with autonomous systems / robotics (ROS2 is a plus)
  • Ability to develop clean, maintainable, production-grade software from scratch
  • Strong ability to develop novel algorithms and innovative approaches in computer vision and agentic AI
  • Master's or PhD in Computer Vision, Robotics, AI or related field (must be completed by September 2026)
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work both independently and in a small, motivated team
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, high ownership and strong problem-solving skills
  • Very good English (German is a plus)

About the company
