This role ensures that transformational security projects across the business are aligned with the security strategy and implement effective controls that mitigate cyber security risks. This role helps ensure that we build the right controls and that we build those control right.
Strong cyber controls are fundamental to BT's brand and reputation. They are integral to all BT's products and services and must operate effectively. As a national telecommunications carrier and provider of UK critical national infrastructure, this role's leadership and commitment to improve security controls is vital in the context of a fast evolving threat landscape with a multitude of threat actors, including nation states.
This role is 3 days a week in the office & can be based in 1 of the following: Birmingham, Belfast, Bristol, Glasgow, London, Manchester (Ipswich only to internal colleagues)
What you'll be doing
- Manages BA delivery within a domain, ensuring clarity of requirements and robust analysis to enable customer-focused solutions.
- Contributes to the evolution of BA methodologies and tools for consistency and quality, ensuring compliance of BA standards within their domain.
- Manages quality of BA outputs, ensuring customer and business needs are met, and promoting re-use for efficiency.
- Embeds continuous improvement, identifying and adopting best practices, and leveraging re-usable assets to enhance delivery.
- Support senior stakeholders with clear analysis and recommendations that inform decisions and priorities.
- Manages resources effectively, balancing workload and optimising allocation for cost-efficient outcomes.
- Manages, coaches and develops BA's, managing performance, recruitment, capability uplift and fostering a high-performing culture.
- Builds strong stakeholder relationships ensuring effective communication, knowledge share and engagement throughout change initiatives to support delivery within the domain.
- Ensure compliance and manage risk, maintaining governance standards across BA activities.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Process improvement?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, * At least 5 years experience as a Senior Business Analyst working in a multi-disciplined and commercial environment
- Demonstrable experience working on complex IT projects
- Use of Agile methods for delivery and an understanding of their benefits for project delivery.
- Line management experience
- Excellent knowledge and practical experience with a variety of business analysis tools and techniques.
- Excellent management of stakeholder relationships at all levels.
- Proven strong communication and influencing skills and a collaborative approach.
- Strong problem solving and conflict management techniques.
- Able to work independently on ill-defined problems.
- Demonstrable skills in presenting information effectively.
- Demonstrable experience of coaching and managing teams of business analysis to deliver complex projects utilising best practice.
- Business requirement definition, process design and associated business analysis methodologies.
- Good knowledge of business processes, capabilities, operations and technical environments.
- Experience of working on high profile projects reporting to senior management and directors.
- STEM related Bachelor's degree or a related study, or equivalent experience.
- Recognised business analyst qualifications e.g. BCS business analysis diploma.
Desirable Skills / Experience
- Demonstrable experience working on complex Cyber Security projects. (advantageous)
