Job description

Our client is building a next-generation infrastructure platform to orchestrate high-performance compute workloads across distributed environments.

This is a systems-first engineering role, focused on designing and building the underlying infrastructure that enables low-latency, high-throughput distributed systems at scale.

This is not an AI/ML role - we're looking for engineers who build the systems that AI workloads run on, not the models themselves.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Designing and building distributed systems across multiple nodes
  • Developing low-latency communication layers (RPC, networking)
  • Working on infrastructure provisioning, resource management, and scheduling
  • Building control plane / orchestration layers for compute workloads
  • Optimising performance, concurrency, and system efficiency
  • Working across cloud, bare-metal, and hybrid environments

Requirements

  • Strong background in systems engineering and distributed infrastructure
  • Experience with networking, storage, or provisioning systems
  • Solid understanding of concurrency, memory, and performance optimisation
  • Experience building low-latency, high-throughput systems
  • Proficiency in C++ or other systems-level languages
  • Track record of building infrastructure or platform-level systems (not just applications)

Nice to Have

  • Experience with high-performance compute environments
  • Exposure to GPU or large-scale compute workloads
  • Familiarity with Linux internals or containerisation
  • Experience in early-stage or highly technical teams

Benefits & conditions

Engineers who:

  • Prefer systems and infrastructure problems over product work
  • Enjoy working close to performance, hardware, and distributed systems
  • Want to have real ownership and impact in a small team

Pay: £110,000.00-£150,000.00 per year

Benefits:

  • Company pension
  • Work from home
