In this role, you will develop, manage, and continuously improve a range of core information systems and services that enable the organisation to operate effectively. Working in a fast-paced and future-focused environment, you will act as a key technical specialist, providing expert support, guidance, and solutions to colleagues across the team and the wider organisation.

You will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing the organisation's infrastructure, including Microsoft domain services, virtualisation platforms, remote access solutions, cloud-hosted environments, Microsoft 365 services, and backup operations. You will also support the security and stability of the estate through effective patch management, monitoring, incident response, and adherence to zero-trust principles.

Key duties include:

  • Leading the investigation and resolution of complex technical incidents and providing specialist support as the team's escalation point
  • Conducting root-cause analysis to prevent reoccurrence and improve service reliability
  • Ensuring all systems and services comply with security, governance, and operational standards

Requirements

This is a highly important role within our Finance, Modernisation & Digital portfolio, which means you'll need to meet the following criteria:

  • Relevant qualification or equivalent experience to SCQF Level 8-10 such as Degree level
  • Proven experience in managing, maintaining, and troubleshooting complex IT infrastructure (servers, virtualisation, storage, and backups)
  • Significant experience with Azure stack (compute, storage, networking, AVD)
  • Ability to mentor colleagues and transfer skills
  • Full UK drivers licence
