Job description
Senior Data Architect £600 per day Outside IR35 2 month rolling contract Remote with occasional client engagement
We're working with a client who needs a Senior Data Architect to come in and shape how their data is structured, accessed and actually used.
This isn't theory or strategy for the sake of it. It's about defining a clear data architecture, getting it working, and making sure it delivers value across the business.
What you'll be doing:
- Defining a data architecture that works for multiple stakeholders across the business
- Designing and delivering data solutions using modern cloud platforms
- Building and maintaining key artefacts like ERDs, data dictionaries and data pipelines
- Working closely with engineers to turn architecture into delivery
- Assessing data sources, APIs and integrations to make sure everything connects properly
- Supporting testing, integration and supplier alignment
- Embedding governance, standards and security into the data setup
- Helping drive insight through tools like Power BI
What we need:
- Strong experience designing and delivering data architectures end to end
- Hands-on experience with Databricks (must-have)
- Strong Power BI experience, including DAX
- Experience with data lakes and data warehouses
- Cloud experience across AWS, Azure or GCP
- Strong SQL skills
- Solid understanding of data modelling, ETL/ELT and data pipelines
- Experience migrating from on-prem to cloud environments
- Understanding of RBAC and data security principles
This is a hands-on role for someone who can own the architecture, work closely with delivery teams, and make sure the solution actually lands.
