Job Description
This contract role offers the opportunity to work as an Automation Tester on a high-profile client site in Liverpool Street, London, three days per week, outside IR35. You will design, develop and maintain sophisticated automated test frameworks and scripts, working closely with stakeholders in an Agile, Test-Driven Development (TDD) environment. The position focuses on data-intensive testing within asset management systems, leveraging modern technologies and tools.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain robust automated test scripts using C#, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript and SQL.
- Implement and enhance test automation frameworks such as Playwright, SpecFlow and similar tools to support end-to-end, integration and regression testing.
- Apply Agile and TDD methodologies to drive high-quality software delivery, contributing to planning, refinement, stand-ups and retrospectives.
- Create, execute and maintain complex test suites that validate functional, non-functional and data-related requirements.
- Perform extensive data testing using SQL and platforms such as Snowflake or Databricks to ensure data integrity, accuracy and consistency.
- Collaborate closely with client stakeholders to understand requirements, clarify acceptance criteria and define test strategies.
- Provide clear, concise test results and defect reports to development and business teams, helping to diagnose and resolve issues efficiently.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of testing processes, tooling and automation coverage within the project.
- Work effectively within asset management environments, including systems such as Aladdin, to validate business-critical workflows.
- Engage in regular client-facing interactions, managing expectations and communicating progress, risks and issues in a professional manner.
Essential Skills
- Advanced proficiency in C# for building and maintaining automated test suites.
- Advanced proficiency in Python for test automation and Scripting.
- Advanced proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript for browser-based and framework-driven test automation.
- Strong SQL skills for data validation, query writing and database testing.
- Extensive experience with test automation frameworks such as Playwright and SpecFlow.
- Deep understanding of Agile methodologies and practical experience working in Agile teams.
- Deep understanding of Test-Driven Development (TDD) and its application in automated testing.
- Strong data testing knowledge, including experience with SQL-based validation.
- experience testing data platforms such as Snowflake or Databricks.
- Proven experience in asset management environments, ideally including Aladdin.
- Demonstrable track record of writing, executing and maintaining complex automated test scripts.
- Strong client-facing and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly.
