Job description
We're working with a growing UK organisation looking to bring in a 3rd Line IT Engineer to support and strengthen their central IT function.
This is a great opportunity for someone stepping up from 2nd line or an established 3rd line engineer who enjoys a mix of hands-on support, infrastructure exposure, and project work.
What you'll be doing:
- Providing 3rd line support across a varied technical environment
- Owning and resolving complex incidents (including P1s)
- Monitoring infrastructure (backups, alerts, performance)
- Supporting cloud and on-prem environments
- Working closely with infrastructure and project teams
- Mentoring junior engineers and improving service delivery
- Acting as a key escalation point and technical SME
Requirements

Strong experience in 2nd/3rd line support roles

Good knowledge across:

Microsoft 365 / Azure AD

Windows Server & Active Directory
-
Networking (DNS, DHCP, VPNs, firewalls)

Virtualisation (VMware / Hyper-V)
Exposure to cloud (Azure/AWS) and hybrid environments
Experience with ticketing systems (ServiceNow, Freshservice, etc.)
Scripting (PowerShell ideal)
Strong communication skills - able to translate tech to users
Nice to have:
- ITIL knowledge
- Experience supporting cyber/security incidents (e.g. phishing)
- Involvement in infrastructure or migration projects
