Job description
Our SAP S/4HANA system is business-critical for production and supply chain across multiple countries. As SAP Basis Administrator you ensure stable, secure and projectable technical operations in our SAP S/4HANA Private Cloud landscape while working closely with SAP (ECS) and our internal application and infrastructure teams for granting reliable processes in our operations and in the technical maintenance. The role expects hands-on mentality and requires strong operational discipline around maintenance windows, DR (disaster recovery) drills, and performance stability., * Operate and monitor the SAP S/4HANA system landscape (DEV/QAS/PRD) to ensure high availability and stable performance.
- Manage incidents and problems (2nd/3rd level), including structured troubleshooting and root-cause analysis.
- Coordinate technical maintenance, patching, upgrades, transports, authorizations, and interfaces.
- Ensure availability, performance monitoring & stabilization, and security of S/4HANA and connected systems (Fiori, BW/4HANA, SAC).
- Collaborate with SAP ECS and external providers (tickets, SLAs, maintenance windows, escalations).
- Execute Basis-related security/compliance tasks, certificate/TLS management, and audit support.
- Support lifecycle processes (system copies/refreshes, client admin, cutover/hypercare)
- Ensure transport readiness and stable technical processes around changes (ITIL-oriented).
- Participate in on-call rotation, including triage, escalation, and improvement of incident playbooks.
Requirements
- Completed IT vocational training or degree in IT; alternatively several years of SAP Basis experience.
- Solid SAP Basis expertise and hands-on experience in productive S/4HANA environments.
- Strong technical fundamentals (operations, profiles, jobs/spool, RFC, gateway/ICM, transport handling).
- Solid operator-level Linux knowledge, cloud integration experience, and familiarity with external provider mgmt.
- Fluent in German and English; additional languages (FR/ES/PT) are a plus.
- Strong communication, intercultural collaboration, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- High ownership, customer orientation, reliability, and willingness to travel.
- Nice-to-have: SAP certifications, ITIL know-how, HANA operator skills, automation/scripting mindset.
