Job description
Senior Platform Engineer - Remote - Outside IR35 - 6 Months
- As Senior Platform Engineer (Integration) in Squad A, you will be the in-house technical authority for all API and integration work across LightSpeed's critical BSS/OSS ecosystem. You will own the build, maintenance, and evolution of integration flows connecting Salesforce Communications Cloud, NetAdmin, Nokia/Adtran, billing systems, and new services provisioning pipelines - bringing rigour, repeatability, and platform ownership to an environment that has historically relied on external managed services.
- This is not a back-office development role. You will be a senior contributor to the CI/CD pipeline, a guardian of integration quality across squad boundaries, and a key player in LightSpeed's journey to Engineering Maturity - working closely with the Head of OSS/BSS, the Software Solutions Architect, and cross-squad peers to establish the internal integration capability LightSpeed needs to scale.
Experience
Must Have Skills
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on API and integration development experience in a professional delivery environment - designing, building, deploying, and managing integration flows at production scale
- Strong REST API fundamentals - HTTP methods, status codes, JSON/XML payload structures, API design principles, and practical experience consuming and publishing APIs at production scale
- Hands-on experience with integration platforms and Middleware - connecting disparate enterprise systems, managing data flows, and maintaining integration reliability in a live environment (experience on any major integration platform considered - MuleSoft, Boomi, Azure Integration Services, AWS EventBridge, or equivalent)
- Data transformation capability - authoring and maintaining transformation logic across heterogeneous data formats (JSON, XML, CSV) in a production context
- Source control discipline - Git-based development, branching strategy, pull requests, and code review as standard practice
- CI/CD pipeline participation - automated build, test, and deployment workflows; environment promotion; pipeline troubleshooting
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills - able to translate technical integration complexity into clear language for non-technical audiences
Desirable Skills
-
MuleSoft Anypoint Platform experience - Anypoint Studio, Runtime Manager, API Manager, and the standard connector catalogue (HTTP, SFTP, Database, Salesforce)
-
DataWeave 2.0 proficiency - complex, multi-step transformation patterns across heterogeneous formats without reference to templates
-
API lifecycle management - RAML/OpenAPI Specification authoring, versioning, and governance
-
Salesforce connector experience - consuming Salesforce APIs or managing Salesforce-connected integration flows
-
Telecoms, ISP, or altnet BSS/OSS platform exposure
-
MuleSoft Certified Developer or Integration Architect certification
-
Experience with event-driven integration patterns - Webhooks, message queuing, async processing
-
Contract Length: 6 Months
-
Day Rate: £500/day (Outside IR35)
