Job description
We are looking for an experienced and hands-on IT Technician to support our growing retail business. You will play a key role in maintaining and troubleshooting IT systems across our estate of 60+ stores, ensuring minimal disruption to daily operations. This is a field-based role requiring regular travel to retail locations, working closely with store teams to resolve technical issues and maintain critical systems., * Provide first and second-line support for hardware, software, and network issues
- Troubleshoot POS systems, payment terminals, receipt printers, and in-store technology
- Support Windows desktops, tablets, and Android devices
- Diagnose faults and carry out repairs or hardware replacements
IT Systems & Hardware
- Install, configure, and maintain IT equipment including PCs, laptops, tablets, POS devices, routers, and printers
- Manage and maintain Microsoft 365 and other business applications
- Perform routine system maintenance and updates
Network & Infrastructure
- Monitor and maintain network performance (Wi-Fi, LAN, WAN)
- Support data centre (DC) administration
- Install and configure networking equipment
- Ensure IT security protocols are maintained
Data & Backups
- Perform and monitor backups for key systems (e.g. NetSuite, C2EPoS, Power BI)
- Restore systems and data when required
Supplier Management
- Liaise with third-party providers including POS vendors, payment providers, telecoms, and CCTV suppliers
- Coordinate issue resolution and system support with external partners
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years' experience in IT support (retail or multi-site environment preferred)
- Strong experience with POS systems and retail technology
- Solid knowledge of Windows and Android operating systems
- Good understanding of networking (LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi)
- Experience with Microsoft 365 and cloud-based systems
- Knowledge of backup and disaster recovery processes
- Good people skills
- Excellent communication skills and ability to support non-technical users
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
Additional Requirements
- Full UK driving licence (required)
- Willingness to travel regularly between sites
- Flexibility to work outside normal hours when needed
- Ability to lift and carry IT equipment
