Professorship in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence

Our true differentiator is applied, interactive AI-core learning. We are seeking a mathematician or data scientist to lead our education in intelligence and algorithms. You will teach students how to generate knowledge from data and build responsible AI systems. At XU, you will not just teach theory; you will mentor students in real projects with real impact, covering fields from digital business to advanced robotics., You will assume duties in teaching, research, and academic self-administration in accordance with § 42 and § 43 BbgHG.

• Teaching & Student Supervision: Teaching modules in the study program in classroom, blended, and online formats. This includes module responsibility, examination acceptance, and student supervision.
• Program Development: Active participation in the further development of study programs, quality assurance, and accreditation procedures. This involves the conception, creation, and adaptation of teaching and learning materials.
• Research & Transfer: Development of a distinct personal research profile and publication of results. You will initiate, expand, and maintain cooperation with partners in industry and research.
• Administration: Active participation in academic administration, committee work, and student recruitment events.

Teaching Responsibilities:

You will be responsible for teaching modules such as:

• Data Science Fundamentals
• Machine Learning & Deep Learning
• Advanced Artificial Intelligence
• Natural Language Processing (NLP)
• Computer Vision and Image Processing
• Big Data Technologies
• Ethical & Responsible AI

• Completed university degree and a PhD ( magna cum laude or equivalent).
• Pedagogical aptitude for teaching in English.
• Minimum of 3 years professional experience , of which at least 2 years were spent outside the university sector.
• Relevant practical experience in data science, AI development, or algorithm design .
• Experience in acquiring third-party funding is considered an asset., * A versatile, innovative, and international work environment in cooperation with renowned partner universities.
