We are looking for

We are looking for a driven and enthusiastic Data Engineer (m/w/d) , who desires to contribute to the growth and success of our Data & Analytics Team.

Your role in BizAway

• As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the data architecture that best supports our business needs. This includes implementing scalable and cost-effective data pipelines and ETL flows for both structured and unstructured data.
• You will work closely with Product and Engineering teams to ensure data quality, reliability, and availability, while also collaborating on defining data design guidelines and event instrumentation strategies to enable consistent and reliable data collection across our systems.
• You will own BizAway's ETL processes and contribute to the implementation of data models supporting analytics, reporting, and AI/ML initiatives.
• Together with other team members, you will ensure that data governance, security, and compliance best practices are in place, along with comprehensive documentation.
• You will also operate confidently within modern AI development workflows, supporting the evolution of data products and AI-driven initiatives.

• 3-5 years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role
• Demonstrated experience in data modelling and in implementing OLTP / OLAP systems
• Hands-on experience with cloud-based data platforms (AWS preferred)
• Extensive knowledge of data architecture principles
• Strong proficiency in SQL, Python and Spark
• Experience working with SQL and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL and MongoDB preferred)
• Be familiar with CI/CD processes and IAC tools (Terraform preferred)
• Ideally having a background in software engineering
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field (preferred)
• English proficiency (written and spoken, minimum B2 level)

We are also interested in

• Previous experience in the travel industry or similar sectors
• Previous experience with data modelling in Qlik Cloud or other BI platforms
• Previous experience with data science and machine learning projects
