Job description
Our client is a global leader in the oil & gas industry, and they are looking for an experienced Senior Data Architect to support the design, implementation, and governance of enterprise-scale data platforms. The role is based in the Netherlands and offers flexibility to work from either Amsterdam or Rotterdam, within an internationally operating organisation.
You will work as part of a globally distributed data and technology team, contributing to strategic data initiatives and ensuring alignment between business objectives and IT architecture., * Design and maintain enterprise-level data architectures aligned with business and IT strategy.
- Translate business and analytical requirements into scalable data models and data platforms.
- Lead data warehousing initiatives, including modern cloud-based and Fabric-style solutions.
- Define and enforce data architecture standards and data governance frameworks.
- Work closely with data engineering and analytics teams to ensure reliable data integration.
- Apply architecture frameworks (e.g. ArchiMate, TOGAF, or equivalent) to document and communicate designs.
- Operate within Agile and DevOps environments, supporting modern delivery practices.
- Provide architectural input to projects and report progress to key stakeholders.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of proven experience working specifically as a Data Architect.
- Strong hands-on experience with:
- Data warehousing and analytical data platforms
- Data integration and data modelling
- Data governance and data management practices
- Experience working with Agile and DevOps methodologies in a delivery-focused environment.
- Practical experience using architecture frameworks such as TOGAF, ArchiMate, or comparable frameworks.
- Experience working within international or globally distributed teams.
- Fluency in spoken and written English., * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Architecture, data, or cloud-related certifications (e.g., TOGAF, CDMP, cloud architecture certifications) are advantageous.
- A Master's degree is considered a plus, but is not mandatory.
