Job description

The Senior Analytics Engineer is a key member of the Data & Analytics team, responsible for designing and implementing scalable data solutions that enable efficient analytics and reporting across the organisation. They will be required to create new professional standards for development activities and data solutions.

This role focuses on automating repetitive analyst tasks, optimising data workflows, and ensuring high-quality, reusable datasets to support business decision-making. The role holder will also be focussed on improving the standards of capability within the wider analytics team, and mentoring developers. The Analytics Engineer will work closely with data analysts, engineers, and business stakeholders to deliver robust, automated, and efficient data products.

Requirements

  • Proven significant experience in data engineering or analytics engineering roles.
  • Strong proficiency in Python and SQL for data automation and transformation.
  • Experience with Power BI optimisation and performance tuning.
  • Familiarity with modern data platforms and cloud technologies (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP).
  • Track record of building scalable data pipelines and reusable datasets.
  • Advanced technical skills in Python, SQL, and BI tools.
  • Good working knowledge of statistics, including Bayesian, inferential statistics.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking.
