Job description
We are looking for a talented DevOps Practice Lead to lead our DevOps practice and help create extraordinary digital experiences for our valued clients. As leader of this key team, you will be responsible for owning the design, build and ongoing enhancement of Cloud infrastructure and developer tooling across our client projects in addition to leading internal DevOps improvement initiatives to make our team more efficient and happy., * Identifying and owning technical components or solutions that can span multiple projects
- Mentoring other engineers (pair programming, code reviews, feedback)
- Facilitating and management of engineer's career goals and professional development
- Identifying process improvements, and leaning in to facilitate their implementation.
- Running and facilitating group meetings, and ensuring that actions are completed
- Producing pragmatic and high quality solutions to challenging or complicated problems.
- Assisting with technical aspects in RFP responses and taking part in pitches
- Assisting with planning and estimation of medium-large projects
- Taking part in customer workshops, and other stakeholder management initiatives
- Participates in the interviewing process of new team members.

- You are meticulous and detail oriented, * Relevant industry experience in a similar role or related field
- Experience of leading a DevOps team and people management
- Experience of architecting, building and supporting infrastructure
- Knowledge of AWS cloud and a wide range of its services - Lambda, Cloudfront, API Gateway, EC2, S3, ECS, etc
- Good hands-on knowledge of infrastructure as code using Terraform
- Knowledge and understanding of open server stack including Linux, Apache, MySQL
- Keen eye for process automation
- Experience in Git and Git workflows
- Experience in developing Continuous Integration/ Continuous Delivery pipelines (CI/CD) eg GitHub Actions, Jenkins
- Experience of software containerisation platforms and tools e.g. Docker, Kubernetes
- Experience of monitoring, logging and alerting using tools like CloudWatch or Nagios
- Experience of incident management
- Experience of managing sysadmin / DevOps projects and releases
- Experience working closely with DevOps teams to define best in class architecture
- Experience of working in a fast-paced commercial environment where products have to be delivered to fixed timescales.
- Experience working collaboratively with internal delivery teams and senior management
- Experience using Jira/Confluence
- Experience in capacity management
- Familiar with Agile methodologies, iterative and incremental development
- Experience of working in a fast-paced environment where products have to be delivered to fixed timescales.
- Experience working with development teams to troubleshoot problems throughout the lifetime of an application
Desirable
- Experience in languages including Javascript (React/Node.js), PHP or Python
- Experience working with Azure or Google Cloud Platform
- Experience of leading development teams
- Experience of presenting to clients
- Experience within the creative and/or tech industries or an agency background
- Proficient in Bash scripting
