Job description
We're looking for a Data Scientist to join our Group Data & Analytics team, where you'll play a key role in using data and machine learning to inform decision making, improve customer experiences and support smarter, more efficient ways of working.
You'll work on a variety of machine learning projects across areas such as HR, Finance and Asset Management, and have the opportunity to collaborate closely with our Group Generative AI team on innovative, forward-looking initiatives.
This is a collaborative role well suited to someone who enjoys translating complex data into practical insight and working closely with colleagues across the business.
What you'll be doing:
- Developing and delivering data science solutions that support business decisions and create value
- Working with diverse data sources to explore, join and analyse data at scale
- Building, testing and refining machine learning models for real-world use cases
- Communicating insights clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Visualising analytical outputs and model results to a high standard
- Collaborating with data and technology colleagues to productionise and automate solutions
- Ensuring work is well documented and peer reviewed to high quality standards
- Providing subject matter expertise to support data-led initiatives and customer outcomes
Requirements
- Experience working with large or complex datasets and strong attention to detail
- Knowledge of a range of machine learning techniques and analytical approaches
- Experience using programming languages such as Python, R or SQL for data analysis and modelling
- Ability to manipulate data, engineer features and prepare datasets for modelling
- Experience gathering requirements and working collaboratively with stakeholders
- Confidence explaining technical concepts in a clear and accessible way
- Knowledge of Generative AI concepts and agent-based systems e.g. LLMs, tool-using agents, or autonomous workflows beneficial but not essential
- Experience experimenting with low-code or pro-code AI agent frameworks such as Copilot Studio, LangChain, or similar is beneficial but not essential
