Job description
Business Analyst - Banking, Data Modelling, SQL - this is a 2+ years contract vacancy for our Basel based client in the Banking sector.
Your tasks:
- Collaborate with business areas such as Risk, Finance, Front, Middle, and Back Office to understand their data needs and requirements.
- Define requirements for data products, including table schemas, in partnership with business stakeholders.
- Design data models that support efficient data retrieval and meet business objectives.
- Assist in producing data workloads, reports, queries, spreadsheets, and dashboards within a modern data lakehouse environment.
- Develop and execute test plans to validate data accuracy and completeness.
- Write and optimise SQL queries to support workload creation and validation.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Business Analyst working on data-related projects within financial services or a similar industry
- Strong expertise in banking business areas such as Middle Office, Risk, and Finance, with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions
- Proficiency in SQL, including writing and optimising complex queries
- Solid experience in data modelling, including table schema and data structure design
- Familiarity with data platforms and modern data architecture
- Language skills: English
