AI Product Technology scale up hiring Tech Lead! Equity on offer, with amazing annual leave and the chance to future proof your career! MCS Group is partnering with a high-growth AI scale-up on a mission to build intelligent, scalable platforms powering next-gen products and agent-driven services. They're now looking for a Software Engineering Tech Lead to take ownership of a talented software engineering team and drive the development of high-performance APIs, microservices, and cloud-native systems. This is a hands-on leadership role - ideal for someone who enjoys setting technical direction while still being close to the code. What you'll be doing:
- Leading and mentoring a team of backend engineers
- Designing and delivering scalable APIs and microservices
- Driving best practice across code quality, testing, and architecture
- Working closely with product and design to ship features at pace
- Owning cloud infrastructure across GCP and Kubernetes
Requirements
- Strong backend experience with Node.js and TypeScript
- Proven track record leading engineering teams
- Solid cloud and containerisation experience (GCP, Kubernetes, Docker)
- Experience building reliable, scalable distributed systems
Nice to have:
- Exposure to AI/ML or event-driven architectures
- Experience with Python or frontend technologies
