Job description

Job Title: AWS DevOps Engineer - Testing & Assurance Lead Location: Remote Clearance: SC (no dual nationals) Duration: 6 months (start: April 2026) IR35: Inside IR35

We're looking for a proactive AWS DevOps Engineer with strong testing and quality assurance expertise to support a critical national system upgrade. The role demands hands-on technical leadership across automation, performance, and reliability testing within a large multi-account AWS estate.

Responsibilities

Design and maintain automated test frameworks (API, integration, performance, security).
Implement testing stages in CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Concourse, GitLab CI/CD, CodePipeline).
Drive high-assurance testing using tools such as JMeter, Swagger, JUnit, SonarQube, Postman.
Develop Python and Shell Scripts for automated validation across AWS environments.
Manage test data and environments via Terraform or CloudFormation.
Use Prometheus and Grafana for performance monitoring and quality reporting.
Collaborate across DevOps, dev, and security teams to prevent defects and optimise reliability.
Mentor teams and champion shift-left testing principles.
