Job description
As a Design Engineer, you'll be working within the Structures and Geotechnical team, supporting them in delivering infrastructure projects across diverse sectors. Contributing to the delivery of a broad range of complex Civil & Structural / MEICA and related services in both Temporary and Permanent Works, leading the delivery of some services, providing solutions which are safe and buildable (in both their temporary and permanent states), above all other considerations
Your day to day will include:
- Permanent Works design for structures, highways, geotechnics and infrastructure, as part of an integrated design and construct offering, temporary works consideration, above and below ground in all materials, integrated with permanent works design as applicable
- Supporting tender and bid submissions with outline designs, feasibility studies, and value engineering solutions
- Conducting technical assessments and reviews of third-party designs to ensure they meet client and Kier requirements
- Undertaking site visits, surveys, and inspections, and providing technical advice on safety and construction matters
- Managing project deliverables including calculations, CAD drawings, reports, and risk assessments whilst maintaining quality standards
Requirements
- You have completed a relevant professional institution IPD (such as IEng, EngTech, or CEng) with relevant experience, or hold a Level 6 or 7 qualification with appropriate experience
- You hold a full UK driving licence
- You're committed to acting safely, ethically, and with care for the environment and communities
