Job description
- Lead on setting up AWS infrastructure, including best practice for code, repositories, pipelines, etc.
- Work closely with the junior infrastructure engineer - coaching, upskilling, and providing templates or example code.
- Possibly support with high side on prem infrastructure, depending on whether it becomes operational again.
- Collaborate with some data engineers so knowledge isn't isolated to one team member
Requirements
- AWS expertise - The role's biggest priority is building out the AWS low-side environment.
- Terraform - Essential for infrastructure as code.
- Ansible - Required and used alongside Terraform.
- DevOps experience - Strong hands on DevOps capability is crucial (GitLab experience is a bonus).
- Kubernetes - Preferable (used on the high-side on prem environment), but not essential.
- Strong coding skills - The person must be hands on, writing infrastructure code themselves.
