Job description

Are you ready to shape the future of data at Home Group? As our Data Architect, you'll be the pioneer, crafting a visionary roadmap for all things data, leading Home Group into a new era of innovation and excellence. You'll work closely with our Head of Data and other senior stakeholders, guiding teams towards achieving our ambitious goals, deriving insight, and wisdom from data, and enabling us to become a truly data driven organisation to directly improve the lives of our customers.

As we continue to explore how AI can help our colleagues work smarter and deliver better outcomes for customers, your role will be critical in ensuring our data foundations are ready for what comes next.

What you'll do

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop your long-term, strategic roadmap to implement our data strategy to achieve our vision.
  • Design and evolve data architectures that support advanced analytics, automation, and AI-enabled capabilities, ensuring data is well-governed, high quality, and fit for purpose.
  • Lead challenging data projects with a focus on deriving value from data how it benefits our customers.
  • You'll support the team, and wider department on their endeavours with your specialist knowledge, whether that's helping with data modelling, integration or data quality your insight will be invaluable.
  • Present and adapt your roadmaps to your peers, senior leaders, or at events to share your knowledge, seek feedback, and foster collaboration.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in implementing a data strategy that incorporates people, process and technology.
  • In-depth knowledge of data modelling principles, techniques and tools with an ability to rapidly upskill in new areas or technologies, adapting to emerging needs.
  • Experience designing data architectures that support advanced analytics, machine learning, or AI use cases, underpinned by strong data governance and quality.
  • Strong expertise in database and data warehousing technologies such as SQL, Oracle and Databricks.
  • Experience of working with internal or external customers to design robust, commercially sound technical solutions.
  • Outstanding communication skills, ability to articulate complex ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences.
