SQL Server DBA - £350/day via Umbrella - 4 Month Contract - Leeds - Hybrid - SCC Flex Contract

We are looking for an experienced SQL Server DBA to support a key database migration programme, moving critical SQL Server environments from on-premise infrastructure into AWS. This SQL Server DBA contract offers the chance to work on a high-impact cloud transformation within a collaborative technical team. As a SQL Server DBA, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the stability, performance and successful migration of enterprise SQL Server platforms. This SQL Server DBA role is ideal for someone with strong hands-on experience across both traditional on-prem environments and AWS.

Your responsibilities as the SQL Server DBA:

• Support the migration of SQL Server databases from on-premise environments into AWS.
• Manage, maintain and optimise SQL Server instances across development, test and production.
• Ensure database availability, performance tuning, monitoring and troubleshooting.
• Implement backup, recovery and disaster recovery strategies.
• Work closely with infrastructure, cloud and application teams during migration activities.
• Maintain security, compliance and best practices across SQL Server environments.
• Provide documentation and knowledge transfer as required.

As a successful SQL Server DBA, you will have:

• Strong experience as a SQL Server DBA in enterprise environments.
• Proven experience migrating SQL Server from on-premise infrastructure into AWS.
• Good understanding of AWS services relevant to database hosting (EC2, RDS, storage, networking).
• Solid knowledge of SQL Server performance tuning, HA/DR and backup strategies.
• Experience working in hybrid environments.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work autonomously in a contract setting.
