Job description

We are seeking a PAM Consultant to join a leading technology consulting environment delivering privileged access security work across complex, regulated client estates. This is a hands-on consulting role focused on the design, implementation and governance of privileged access management solutions, with a clear requirement for SC clearability.

This role suits someone who can operate credibly across both delivery and stakeholder-facing work. You will be shaping PAM controls that reduce risk, improve operational discipline and support wider identity and security transformation in environments where compliance and resilience matter.

Role Overview

As a PAM Consultant, you will support the architecture, implementation and ongoing improvement of privileged access controls across enterprise environments. You will work with established PAM platforms, advise on operating model decisions and help clients strengthen governance around privileged identities, accounts and sessions.

About the Organisation

You will be joining a market-leading professional services business with a strong reputation in cyber, technology and transformation delivery. The team operates across strategic consulting and hands-on technical implementation, working with clients that require secure, scalable and auditable access controls.

Responsibilities

  • Design and shape PAM solutions aligned to client requirements, security standards and delivery constraints.
  • Lead or support implementation of PAM platforms such as CyberArk, BeyondTrust or Thycotic.
  • Assess privileged access risk, identify control gaps and define practical mitigation actions.
  • Contribute to governance, policy and compliance work across frameworks including SOX, GDPR, PCI-DSS and HIPAA.
  • Work with cloud environments including AWS, Azure and GCP where privileged access design needs to reflect modern infrastructure.

Requirements

  • You will bring experience from working in IT security, including at least 3 years focused on PAM.
  • Strong hands-on knowledge of PAM tooling is essential, along with a solid understanding of IAM, security frameworks and regulated delivery environments.
  • Experience with scripting or automation in PowerShell or Python will strengthen your profile, as will strong communication and documentation skills.
  • The ideal candidate will be SC clearable, comfortable in a hybrid setup, and willing to travel where consulting delivery requires it.

Benefits & conditions

  • Competitive salary of £45,000 to £65,000.
  • Hybrid working with around two days in the office.
  • Opportunity to work on high-impact security programmes in regulated environments.
  • Exposure to leading PAM technologies and cloud-based access challenges.
