MS D365 F&O - Innovation & AI Strategy Director

Strategic Leadership and Ownership

• Own and shape the UK strategy for AI-enabled Microsoft Dynamics 365 (Finance, Supply Chain Management, Project Operations), aligned to Deloitte Global strategy and Microsoft's product roadmap.
• Act as the UK subject-matter authority for AI in D365, including agentic AI, Copilot Studio, Azure OpenAI and Power Platform-led extensions, with clear accountability for translating innovation into client-ready offerings.
• Define the target operating model for AI-enabled D365 delivery, including the balance between standard product capabilities, custom AI solutions, and industry-specific accelerators.
• Partner closely with Deloitte Global, the Microsoft Alliance, and UK Microsoft and AI leadership to ensure coherence, re-use of global assets, and avoidance of duplication, while retaining clear UK ownership and accountability.

Market, Client and Commercial Impact

• Drive the commercialisation of AI-enabled D365 offerings, converting innovation and thought leadership into tangible pipeline and revenue growth.
• Play a senior leadership role in key pursuits, shaping propositions, influencing clients at C-suite level, and supporting deal closure for complex, high-value engagements.
• Build trusted advisor relationships with priority clients, positioning Deloitte as a market leader in AI-driven ERP transformation.
• Contribute directly to the UK Microsoft practice growth agenda, with accountability for AI-related pipeline creation and contribution to revenue targets.

Offerings, Innovation and IP

• Lead the design and evolution of a coherent portfolio of AI-enabled D365 offerings, spanning:

• Embedded Copilot and first-party Microsoft AI capabilities

• Agentic AI and workflow automation

• Industry-specific use cases and accelerators

• Governance, risk and responsible AI considerations

Ensure offerings are scalable, repeatable, and commercially viable, rather than bespoke point solutions.

Sponsor and govern the creation of IP, assets, and accelerators, ensuring quality, reusability, and adoption across the practice.

People and Capability Leadership

• Build, lead, and develop a high-performing UK AI-enabled D365 capability, including senior practitioners across functional, technical, and solution architecture disciplines.
• Provide visible leadership, coaching, and sponsorship to Directors, Senior Managers, and emerging talent, embedding a strong culture of innovation, collaboration, and delivery excellence.
• Shape the capability roadmap, including hiring priorities, skills development, and certification pathways aligned to Microsoft and Deloitte strategic priorities.
• Act as a role model for Deloitte leadership behaviours, inclusion, and professional excellence.

Delivery Governance and Quality

• Provide senior oversight and assurance across complex AI-enabled D365 programmes, ensuring delivery quality, risk management, and alignment to client outcomes.
• Support engagement leaders in addressing delivery challenges, escalations, and critical programme decisions where AI materially changes delivery risk or value.
• Ensure responsible AI principles, data governance, and security considerations are embedded into solution design and delivery.

Stakeholder and Ecosystem Leadership

• Represent Deloitte UK externally with Microsoft product groups, partners, and the wider ecosystem, shaping joint propositions and influencing roadmap alignment.
• Contribute to Deloitte thought leadership, market positioning, and eminence activities related to AI and ERP transformation.
• Collaborate across Consulting, Tax, Risk Advisory and other service lines to deliver integrated, AI-led client outcomes.

As a Microsoft D365 Innovation and AI Strategy Director, you will play a key role shaping and building our Microsoft D365 F&O practice in the UK, you will help our clients transform the way they run and manage their business, you will use your expertise to build and develop our internal capability. The role provides the opportunity to support our global strategic clients address their most important business challenges alongside building a successful team.

You will play a key role supporting C-level executives define their AI strategy, solution architecture and roadmap to shape the future operations and finance function.

You will provide a unique perspective combining industry insight, knowledge of Microsoft enabled business transformation, cloud adoption and disruptive digital enablers to deliver value to our clients. You will use your knowledge of business process, Information Model and Microsoft technologies to design solutions and future products and services, influencing critical business architecture and value decisions.

You will use the extensive experience you have gained though-out your career to build and develop our internal capability, assess training needs and be a role model to our emerging talent, demonstrating how you engage and work with clients to solve their most complex business problems.

• Proven experience leading large-scale Microsoft Dynamics 365 (Finance / SCM / Project Operations) programmes and practices.
• Demonstrable leadership in AI-enabled business transformation, including Copilot, automation, advanced analytics, or agent-based solutions.
• Strong commercial acumen, with experience shaping and closing complex, high-value consulting engagements.
• Credibility with senior client stakeholders and Microsoft executives.
• Track record of building and leading senior consulting teams.

Desirable

• Experience defining or scaling AI-enabled ERP offerings within a consulting or professional services environment.
• Deep understanding of Microsoft's AI and Power Platform ecosystem and its application within enterprise ERP landscapes.
• Industry specialism aligned to Deloitte's priority sectors.
