Job description

We're partnering with a top global insurer to recruit a Solution Architect into their Specialty - Global Markets team in Manchester.

This is a great opportunity to join a global organisation and play a key role in designing and delivering modern, scalable technology solutions across a range of transformation and innovation initiatives.

The Opportunity

You'll work closely with both business and technical teams to shape architecture, guide delivery, and ensure solutions are aligned with enterprise standards. The role offers a strong mix of hands-on design, stakeholder engagement, and involvement in modernisation programmes.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Designing end-to-end solutions across cloud and enterprise systems
  • Supporting application transformation and modernisation initiatives
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to define scalable and reusable architectures
  • Contributing to architecture governance, standards, and best practices
  • Supporting Agile and DevSecOps delivery approaches
  • Driving integration strategies across APIs, microservices, and event-driven systems
  • Reviewing designs, supporting development teams, and ensuring high-quality delivery
  • Identifying and mitigating technical risks

Requirements

  • Experience as a Solution / Technical / Application Architect
  • Strong understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or similar)
  • Experience with APIs, microservices, and integration architectures
  • Experience working across enterprise applications (e.g. ERP, portals, policy systems)
  • Knowledge of Agile / DevOps environments
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience with architecture frameworks (e.g. TOGAF) is beneficial
  • Insurance or financial services experience is a plus (not essential)
