Job description

Opportunity for a Functional and System Design role for the Datalink System/Subsystem within Airbus Helicopter Spain, Getafe. The selected candidate will join the Mission System department (EBSTYM), which is in charge of avionic system integration in helicopters. The role involves system engineering activities and helicopter-level integration of the System under its responsibility, interfacing with many contributor systems for civil and military helicopters. In the team, the jobholder will act as a technical reference for the functionalities of the System. The role may involve some travel for business to Germany (occasionally) and France (mainly); the candidate must be able to travel accordingly. Responsibilities Ensuring planning at equipment supplier and helicopter level for development and qualification Participating in offer management and contributing to product sourcing policy Assessing suppliers' offers with other stakeholders Proactively controlling and monitoring suppliers during the development phase, to safeguard technical requirements Gathering and sharing knowledge of the Systems market solutions (current and future) Ensuring the qualification / certification of equipment and the associated functions Prepare and ensure the functional integration of the system into the helicopter avionic architecture and supporting the H/C Software development activities associated to the system. Definition of helicopter test procedures: on ground and flight, and analysis of the results. Supporting the integration rigs, ground and flight testing of the equipment Supporting knowledge exchange within Airbus (all divisions) Participate in the Design, refinement and improvement of new projects SW Development Environments

Requirements

Education: Aeronautical or Telecommunication Engineering degree or a related discipline. Experience: At least 5 years in system design skills; experience in the design, development, engineering and/or integration of systems for aircraft. Technical knowledge: Datalink, VMF, Link 16, Mission systems. Soft skills: High adaptability to work on new topics, new business and in a networking mode; Team Spirit, good communication skills. Languages: Advanced level in English.
