Job description
We're looking for a passionate and hands-on Cyber Security Engineer to join their expanding IT team and play a key role in enhancing their security posture across on-premises and cloud environments. This is a great opportunity for someone who thrives on solving complex security challenges, enjoys working collaboratively, and wants to make a tangible impact on safeguarding critical systems and data., * Lead and support a range of IT security projects, ensuring secure and timely delivery
- Manage and maintain cybersecurity tools for both on-prem and cloud environments (cloud being a key focus)
- Implement, configure, and update security solutions including EDR, SIEM, vulnerability management, IAM, and cloud security tools
- Collaborate with internal IT, development, and third-party teams to embed security across all operations
- Conduct risk assessments, vulnerability scans, and OSINT investigations
- Monitor emerging threats, zero-day vulnerabilities, and new CVEs, assessing their potential impact
- Investigate and respond to security incidents, performing root cause analysis and recommending improvements
- Deliver engaging security awareness training across the business
- Provide security guidance for new technologies and strategic initiatives
- Support day-to-day security operations and enforce strong change control processes
- Assist with SOC alerts, investigations, and escalations
Requirements
- Proven experience in a Cyber Security Engineer or similar technical security role
- Strong understanding of network, infrastructure, and application security principles
- Practical experience with security tools and platforms, both on-prem and cloud-based
- Familiarity with industry standards and frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST, CIS)
- Experience in risk assessment, vulnerability management, and incident response
- Hands-on experience configuring and managing cloud security tools and IAM solutions
- Knowledge of EDR platforms and vulnerability management processes
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CISSP, CEH, Azure Security Engineer) desirable
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify complex issues for non-technical audiences
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
