Job description
We're looking for a Full-Stack Software Developer with strong Java backend experience and solid frontend skills (ideally ReactJS) to join our growing technology team in Manchester. This is an exciting opportunity to work across both web and systems development, building scalable, high-performance applications that directly impact customers and business operations. You'll be part of collaborative, cross-functional Agile squads, delivering high-quality solutions in a fast-paced and supportive environment. What You'll Be Doing
- Designing, developing and maintaining robust backend services using Java
- Building responsive, modern user interfaces using ReactJS
- Contributing to both web platforms and internal systems development
- Working within cross-functional Agile squads (Developers, QA, Product, DevOps)
- Participating in sprint planning, stand-ups, code reviews and retrospectives
- Writing clean, testable and maintainable code
- Supporting continuous integration and deployment pipelines
- Contributing to architectural and technical design discussions
Requirements
- Strong commercial experience with Java/JEE/J2EE (Spring/Spring Boot desirable)
- Frontend development experience with ReactJS (or similar modern JS framework)
- Experience building RESTful APIs and microservices
- Familiarity with SQL and/or NoSQL databases
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
- Understanding of CI/CD, DevOps principles and modern engineering practices
- Strong problem-solving skills and collaborative mindset
Nice to have:
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or GCP)
- Containerisation (Docker/Kubernetes)
- Experience working on enterprise-scale systems
