We are looking for a motivated and creative Back end Software Engineer to join one of our Content and Publishing teams. In this role, you will contribute to the development and maintenance of systems that power our content publishing platform. On the backend, you will help develop and operate services that support our publishing workflows. You'll also have opportunities to get involved in AI-powered projects. If you enjoy collaborating across teams, working in complex codebases, and growing your skills in a supportive, learning-oriented environment, this role is a great fit for you. How you will have an impact at Bonial and within our team - Implement and evolve backend services using Java/Spring, integrating them with frontend applications - Collaborate with engineers from other teams working in the same platform, aligning on shared libraries, standards, and best practices - Help apply modern engineering practices such as containerization with Docker and orchestration with Kubernetes - Build and operate reliable services running on AWS, supported by infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform - Take ownership of features end-to-end, from implementation to production, monitoring, and iterative improvement - Actively participate in an agile team, contributing to code reviews, technical discussions, and continuous improvement - Live and promote the Bonial culture and values in day-to-day collaboration (insidebonial) ## Job requirements What we need: - Solid backend experience with Java/Spring - Working knowledge of Kubernetes and AWS, or experience operating services in cloud environments - Understanding of microservices and interest in event-driven architectures - Ability to work independently on well-defined problems while delivering high-quality, maintainable code - A proactive, ownership-driven mindset, taking pride in both the quality and impact of your work - A strong drive for continuous learning and a willingness to step outside your comfort zone - Experience with Extreme Programming (XP) practices such as incremental design, pairing, trunk-based development and continuous deployment, is a plus - Fluency in English These are ideal requirements.
