Job description
We are seeking a skilled Network Support Engineer II to join our IT infrastructure team in Eberbach, Germany. The role involves providing second-level technical support for network systems, ensuring high availability, performance, and security of enterprise network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in troubleshooting LAN/WAN environments and supporting global users in a fast-paced enterprise setup., * Provide L1-L2 network support for incidents, service requests, and escalations
- Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot network infrastructure including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs
- Diagnose and resolve connectivity issues across LAN/WAN environments
- Support network configuration changes, upgrades, and deployments
- Collaborate with global IT teams and vendors for issue resolution
- Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring network incidents
- Maintain network documentation, diagrams, and operational procedures
- Ensure compliance with security policies and IT standards
- Participate in on-call or shift rotations if required
Requirements
- 2-5 years of experience in network support or infrastructure roles
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing, and switching
- Experience with Cisco or similar enterprise networking equipment
- Knowledge of firewall technologies (e.g., Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco ASA)
- Experience with VPN troubleshooting and remote connectivity solutions
- Familiarity with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG, Wireshark)
- Ability to handle L1-L2 escalations independently
- Good communication skills in English and local language
Preferred Skills
- ITIL certification or understanding of ITIL processes
- CCNA or equivalent certification (CCNP is a plus)
- Experience in global enterprise environments
- Basic scripting or automation knowledge (PowerShell, Python)
