Job description
As a Principal Enterprise Architect, you sit right at the intersection of technology, business strategy, and pre-sales. You partner closely with Sales and Solution Consultants, engage senior stakeholders early, challenge thinking, and design enterprise-grade architectures that turn ambition into reality.
This is not a niche or siloed architecture role. It's a true enterprise position, covering everything from security, integration, cloud migration, and deployment to operating models and end-to-end architecture.
What you'll do
- Lead enterprise architecture across complex FS & Insurance engagements, from early pre-sales discovery through to solution design and deployment
- Act as a trusted technical advisor to senior client stakeholders, confidently handling objections and "reading the room"
- Translate complex regulatory, security, and business requirements into robust, scalable architectures
- Partner "hand-in-glove" with Solution Consultants - they sell the vision, you design the detail
- Shape and influence technical sales cycles, supporting demos, solution validation, integrations, and cloud architecture decisions
- Design architectures covering security, infrastructure, integrations, deployment models, and cloud platforms
- Bring credibility and clarity to conversations with architects, engineers, and C-suite audiences alike
What makes this role different
- Broad enterprise scope - not just one product, domain, or pattern
- Involvement early in pre-sales, all the way through to delivery and deployment
- High-impact work across FS & Insurance, where architecture really matters
- Strong emphasis on technical depth over domain purity - domain can be learned, architectural credibility cannot
- A collaborative performance model that rewards team and regional success, You don't need to tick every box, but you'll recognise much of this:
- Enterprise architecture frameworks and best practices (e.g. TOGAF)
- Security concepts (SSO, IAM, OAuth, encryption, access models)
- Integration technologies (APIs, ESB, eventing, messaging)
- Cloud and modern platforms (SaaS, PaaS, containers, Kubernetes)
- Modern enterprise architectures (microservices, DevOps, Agile)
- Experience designing solutions in regulated, complex environments
Pega Offers You:
- Gartner Analyst acclaimed technology leadership across our categories of products
- Continuous learning and development opportunities
- An innovative, inclusive, agile, flexible, and fun work environment
- Competitive global benefits program inclusive ofpay + bonus incentive, employee equity in the company
- #LI-Remote #LI-PD1
Requirements
You're likely someone who has evolved from a technical or solution architect role into a broader enterprise architecture position.
You bring:
- Deep, hands-on enterprise architecture experience across complex environments
- Strong background in Financial Services and/or Insurance (regulated environments, security-first thinking, complex integrations)
- Proven ability to engage senior clients with confidence and credibility
- Broad technical knowledge - security, cloud, integration, infrastructure, deployment
- A consulting mindset: curious, influential, and comfortable with ambiguity
- A genuine thirst for learning and keeping pace with modern enterprise technology
Pega experience is helpful but not essential. What matters most is your breadth of technical knowledge, architectural thinking, and ability to connect technology to real business outcomes.
