Job description

The purpose of Infrastructure services is to ensure our services and systems are hosted effectively, securely and efficiently.

The function of Infrastructure services brings all network and hosting infrastructure into a single team which will provide a multi-skilled 24/7 Infra Operations team organised by function and focussed on supporting continual improvement.

The teams are divided into fourcore areas providing technical and service management expertise:

  • hosting
  • cloud centre of excellence
  • connectivity
  • central capabilities

Services are delivered to internal customers and NHS organisations., The role will include support to existing and new systems and services. The provided support will be at varied levels of scope and complexity, ranging fromsmall changes tracked in our issue management application to managing larger projects involving other team members and stakeholders from other teams.

This role will also contribute to internal team projects to support and enhance the existing services, such as hardware refreshes, performance improvements, business continuity and disaster recovery planning and testing.

Requirements

We are seeking a Technical Consultant - Network Engineer to provide technical support, administer and make changes on the data network in LAN, WAN, Wireless and Security environments, with a minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar discipline, to join the infrastructure team. The role is an exciting mix of BAU and project work where you will have a real impact on the future of the organisations networking estate.
