Job description

Our Belgian SAP BI & Data team is made up of a dynamic and passionate group of individuals. With a collective experience ranging from 2 to +20 years, our colleagues have dedicated a significant portion of their careers to Capgemini, showing how much we love it here. From database migrations to data warehouses and dynamic reporting, we take it upon ourselves to maximize data-potential and empower our customers to extract the most value from their data., As a Graduate Data Engineer, you'll help build the data foundations that power modern analytics projects. Together with experienced colleagues, you will support the design, development, and operation of data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, and data models that enable clients to process and analyze large datasets. You'll learn how to ensure data quality, collaborate with analysts and data scientists to turn requirements into working solutions, and help troubleshoot and improve platforms over time. You'll also have the opportunity to grow your skills on technologies such as SAP BTP, SAP BW/4HANA, SAP Datasphere and SAP Analytics Cloud. If you are curious, hands-on, and eager to learn in a consultancy environment, this position is for you. What can you expect?

  • You support data engineering activities across the delivery lifecycle (analysis, data modeling, data flow design, development, testing, rollout and support) under the guidance of senior team members.
  • You participate in client workshops and trainings, helping capture requirements and translate them into technical tasks with support from the team.
  • You collaborate with experienced data engineers and consultants, asking questions, sharing progress, and continuously developing your skills through feedback, coaching, and hands-on work.
  • You work closely with your project manager and the project team, as well as with functional colleagues, to help deliver the best solution possible and to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • You support proposal work, internal initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts around Data Solutions.

Requirements

  • You are a recent graduate (or have up to 1 year of relevant experience) in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Engineering, Data/AI, Mathematics, Statistics, or similar, with a strong interest in data engineering and analytics.
  • You have built foundational skills through coursework, internships, projects, or self-learning. We do not require experience with specific vendor tools-strong fundamentals in data management and a learning mindset matter most.
  • Data analysis & querying: ability to explore datasets, validate results, and write queries (e.g., SQL) to answer business questions; ability to write scripts (Python) for data handling.
  • Data modeling: understanding how to design and implement data structures that facilitate efficient data storage, retrieval, and analysis. Familiarity with database and data warehouse design principles is expected; exposure to SAP Datasphere or Databricks is a plus.
  • Report design: interest in presenting insights clearly and an understanding of basic reporting/visualization concepts. Experience with tools such as SAP Analytics Cloud, Tableau, or Power BI is a plus.
  • You show interest in how businesses work (e.g., sales & distribution, purchasing, material management, financial management, or human capital management) and are motivated to deepen your domain knowledge on projects.
  • You are a proactive, results-driven team player with strong communication skills, a customer-oriented approach, and a consultancy mindset, capable of collaborating with diverse colleagues and confidently representing Capgemini to clients.
  • Resident in Belgium.
  • Fluent in Dutch and English.
  • Geographic mobility in Ghent, Brussels and Antwerp 2-3 times a week.
