Job description

We are seeking a talented and creative Web Designer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in digital and interaction design, with a keen eye for aesthetics and user experience. This role involves designing engaging, responsive websites that meet client specifications while ensuring optimal usability and visual appeal. The successful applicant will have experience with a variety of design tools and front-end development technologies, contributing to the creation of innovative digital solutions across multiple platforms., * Develop visually appealing and user-friendly website layouts using Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and XD

  • Create wireframes and prototypes with tools such as Balsamiq, Axure, InVision, and Figma to illustrate design concepts and user flows
  • Implement responsive web designs using HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, SCSS, Less (style sheet language), and JavaScript frameworks like React, Angular, Redux, Node.js, AJAX, and PHP
  • Conduct user research and usability testing to inform design decisions and enhance user experience (UX)
  • Optimise websites for search engines (SEO) and ensure accessibility standards are met
  • Maintain existing websites through regular updates, content management system (CMS) management including Webflow and Drupal
  • Collaborate with developers to integrate front-end designs with back-end systems such as MySQL or SQL databases
  • Analyse website data using Google Analytics to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary adjustments
  • Ensure all web designs adhere to current industry standards for responsiveness, usability, and visual consistency
  • Participate in team meetings to discuss project progress, present design concepts, and incorporate feedback effectively

Requirements

  • Proven experience in digital design, interaction design, UI/UX principles, and wireframing techniques
  • Strong proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (including frameworks like React or Angular), PHP, Node.js, AJAX, SQL databases (MySQL or similar), and content management systems such as WordPress or Drupal
  • Extensive knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, After Effects), Figma, InVision, Balsamiq, Axure, Visio or SharePoint for prototyping and documentation
  • Familiarity with responsive web design practices using Bootstrap or similar frameworks
  • Experience with analytics tools like Google Analytics for data-driven optimisation
  • Understanding of SEO best practices and website maintenance procedures
  • Knowledge of usability testing methods and information architecture principles
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
