Job description

As a data scientist, you will work directly with internal engineering teams within Powertrain Engineering to help shape the effective use of digital tools, data and new methods (e.g. analytics, automation and AI) in engineering. The department sees itself as a partner and enabler for skill teams, focusing on added value, standardisation and sustainability rather than project-specific solutions., * Analysis of large amounts of data and derivation of relevant insights

  • Development and implementation of ML and statistical algorithms
  • Application of modern data science methods for process and efficiency optimization
  • Building models for structured and unstructured data
  • Creating visualizations and dashboards for data-driven decisions
  • Collaborating with engineering and specialist departments to identify potential
  • Ensuring data quality and best practice standards
  • Providing technical support in pre-sales phases and customer projects

Requirements

  • Completed education (University, University of Technology, University of Applied Sciences) with a focus on mathematics, statistics, computer science or related fields
  • At least 3-5 years of professional experience in data science, industrial ML use cases or related areas
  • Confident use of Python/R/Scala and ML frameworks (e.g. TensorFlow, Spark)
  • Knowledge of statistical modeling and data analysis
  • Experience in building machine learning models
  • Analytical and conceptual thinking, as well as the ability to communicate technical insights to different stakeholders in an understandable way
  • Strong problem-solving skills and high quality awareness
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, as well as strong organizational skills
  • Very good English skills, German skills are an advantage or at least a willingness to learn German
  • Willingness to travel up to 10 percent of the time (mainly Croatia)

Annual Remuneration: Due to the Austrian Equal Treatment Act we are obligated to state the annual gross remuneration (full-time) for this position as a basis for negotiation: €61,000.00. The Employee will be classified according to the Collective Agreement for Employees of Industry (Collective Bargaining Agreement of the Automotive Industry). We will, in any case, offer market-conforming payment taking qualifications and professional experience into account.
