Job description
We're currently recruiting for a System Engineer to drive the evolution of internal IT infrastructure. This role sits at the core of technology operations, combining day-to-day systems management with forward-looking project work. You will be responsible for ensuring the stability, performance, and security of our environments while also identifying opportunities for improvement and modernization.
In this position, you will take ownership of key infrastructure components across both Windows and Linux platforms, working with cloud and on-premise technologies. A significant portion of your time will be spent planning and delivering infrastructure projects, ranging from deploying new servers and services to optimizing existing systems and introducing new tools. You will also act as an escalation point for more complex technical issues, contributing to 2nd and 3rd line support when required., * Manage and maintain internal IT infrastructure across Windows and Linux environments
- Administer and support Microsoft 365 services, with exposure to Azure being highly desirable
- Plan and deliver infrastructure projects (e.g., server deployments, system upgrades, migrations)
- Monitor system performance, availability, and security, implementing improvements where needed
- Manage Virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V, or similar)
- Support basic networking tasks (DNS, DHCP, VLANs, Firewalls, troubleshooting connectivity issues)
- Provide 2nd/3rd line support for escalated technical issues
- Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure smooth IT operations
- Maintain documentation for systems, processes, and infrastructure changes
Requirements
2 years experience Dutch and English, * Strong experience with both Windows Server and Linux systems administration
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, etc.)
- Familiarity with Microsoft Azure (or willingness to develop skills in this area)
- Experience with Virtualization technologies
- Solid understanding of core networking concepts
- Experience managing and delivering infrastructure-related projects
- Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues independently
- Good documentation and communication skills
- Fluent in Dutch with a strong command of English
