Job description

A highly respected Professional Services firm with a standout reputation is on the lookout for a driven and detail-oriented Data Protection Executive to join its specialist Information Governance and Data Protection team, right in the heart of Birmingham city centre. Step into a dynamic, fast-moving environment where no two days are the same. Working closely with the Head of Data Protection, you'll play a pivotal role across both client-facing projects and internal governance initiatives. This is a position for someone who thrives on precision, enjoys tackling complex information, and is confident navigating technical detail. What You'll Be Doing:

  • Take full ownership of Data Subject Access Requests (DSARs), from initial assessment through to final delivery, managing large volumes of data with accuracy and carrying out meticulous redactions.
  • Review Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs), spotting key risks and delivering clear, structured, and commercially minded feedback to clients.
  • Analyse Data Processing Agreements (DPAs), identifying gaps, inconsistencies, and potential exposures, and confidently escalating where needed.
  • Support a broad mix of information governance and compliance work, from advisory support to enhancing internal processes.

Requirements

  • A strong, practical understanding of GDPR and UK data protection law (no legal qualification required).
  • A sharp awareness of data protection risks and how to manage them effectively.
  • Proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, particularly when reviewing and redacting documents.
  • Clear and confident communication skills, with the ability to translate complex topics into straightforward guidance.
  • Highly organised, able to juggle multiple priorities without compromising on accuracy.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a forward-thinking team where your expertise will have real impact, and your attention to detail will truly shine. If you have any queries about the role, contact Eve on 0121 633 4443.
